We are very pleased to welcome you to our new page.

The name GAP stands for Gardens and People, and it’s a charity that’s specifically for the lovely residents of Dorchester and the surrounding villages.

Our main goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of those who are dealing with stress, anxiety, and mental health conditions. We believe in the power of holistic and ecotherapy garden-based activities to bring relief and support to these individuals. It’s all about creating a nurturing environment and helping them find solace through horticultural activities.

Recently, we’ve made a big move to Red Cow Farm, which has allowed us to grow our project. We’ve expanded from just three gardens to a whopping total of ten individual gardens. The best part is that each charity and organisation has their own special space to work on. We’re here to facilitate and oversee the overall project, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

We also have a fantastic shared area with raised beds, herb gardens, and a cool polytunnel. We’ve even made sure that the path is wheelchair-friendly, because we truly believe in inclusivity and accessibility for everyone.

We’d love it if you could show your support by giving us a follow on Facebook. You’ll stay in the loop with all the amazing things happening at The GAP Project.

Oh, and here’s a special call to action: we’re currently on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers and funding for specific parts of our gardens. We’re starting with the two shared Herb Gardens.

So if you have any interest or know someone who might, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our fantastic trustees,
David Taylor on 07905352710 or Claire Meyer on 07880 803 366.

Thank you so much for considering supporting us! We truly appreciate it.
