Phil Warburton

Phil has been working on The Gap Project for 6 years. He leads the Sports Leader Award with Mark, and is trained as a literacy mentor. He is the minister of a local church, which he leads with his wife Sarah, and has many years youth work experience. Phil and Sarah have 2 children, Naomi & Ben. Phil enjoys maths, and is into any kind of sport, particularly tennis and football.

Mark Hutchings

Mark is The Gap Project Co-ordinator. He is married to Nicky and has 2 children, Rhiannon and Callum. He first got involved in The Gap Project as a mentor, but now works for the project two days a week. Mark co-ordinates the Sports Leader Award and is trained as a ThatReadingThing literacy mentor. Much to the disappointment of the rest of the team, Mark is a Chelsea fan. For some strange reason Mark enjoys running marathons!



Hillary Cole

Hilary is project worker of the new arts, music & media based ‘Develop’ course. She also helps Hannah run the self-injury support group and is trained as a literacy mentor. In her spare time Hilary likes to sing – whether it is with a gospel choir or a funk band. She loves wearing bright colours, dancing to drum ‘n’ bass and being a chocoholic!




Sarah Warburton

Sarah Warburton co-ordinates the literacy programme (ThatReadingThing). She is a West Ham fan who also enjoys watching films, Ceroc dancing and reading.





Hannah Harniess

Hannah is married to Phil. They have 2 children, Caleb and Phoebe. Hannah co-ordinates the self-injury support group and is trained as a literacy mentor. She enjoys swimming, cinema, coffee and chocolate, and playing in the rain with Caleb.





Mike Houston

Mike is one of the leaders of Bethnal Green Mission Church who initiated The Gap Project along with the Good Shepherd Mission, another local church and charity. Mike oversees the running of the project and is involved as a mentor. His main pastime is attempting to get the word smorgasbord into every other sentence and has a fondness for The Dogs.
